Swimming Up Stream – Team Julie

Special Sprint Workouts, Tuesdays at noon (through March)
Is anyone planning to sprint at the swim meet on Sunday, March 2, 2025? Niel Fischer is coaching a short course sprint workout at Moana Pool. These are unique workouts with a lot of sprint related techniques. Try it out.
Special Distance Workouts, 2nd Sunday of Each Month
SNM has reserved 3 SCY lanes on the second Sunday of each month for a two-hour distance workout from 10:00 am to noon at Moana Pool. Reminder as to next three:

Dave Brancamp is leading this endeavor which means no sprinting allowed. You may be required to show your USMS membership card with SNM to gain entry to the facility.
Silver State SCY Swim Meet – Sunday, March 2, 2025
SNM has reserved the new Moana Pool for a short course swim meet on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Warmups start at 9:00 am. Meet starts at 10:00 am.
Do you need entry times for Pacific Masters SCY Championships (see info below)?

A Once-a-Year Special Distance Workout
Northern Nevada Aquatics – Our Annual Endurance Challenge is Sunday February 23, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Moana Springs Aquatic Center.
SNM swimmers are invited to participate in this youth swim team fundraising event ($20 fee).
100 x 100 yards on 100 second interval.
If 100’s are not your cup of tea, you can do 75’s, 50’s or even 25’s. If you don’t want to do them all, that is ok too. Just do your best.
Would you like to use equipment like fins, snorkel, paddles, etc.? Sure, why not!
There will be fun music while you are hanging out waiting for the 100 seconds to come around and some snacks during the 10-minute break. Ask SNM swimmer Erik Scalise, Head Coach of NNA, at an SNM morning workout or call him at 775-331-0123 for more information.
Pacific Masters Swim Meet
Short Course Yard Championships are Friday–Sunday, April 11-13, 2025, at North Natomas Aquatic Complex, 2601 New Market Drive, Sacramento CA 9583. Registration closes Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11:59 pm for swimmers entering individual events. As this date and location may be convenient for our members, Coach Steve is encouraging team participation.
2024 Spring Nationals
USMS Spring Nationals are Thursday-Sunday, April 24 – 27, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the Northside ISD Swim Center in San Antonio. Entries will close on March 31, 2025, at 11:59 pm Pacific.
Donner Lake Swim
Save the date. The 44th Annual Donner Lake Swim will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
